Assistant Professor
Specialties: Polymer Chemistry, Mechanochemistry
Education:
PhD Chemistry, University of Washington 2019-2024
B.S. Biochemistry, Biophysics Whitworth University 2014-2018
Research Interests:
Our research group aims to provide sustainable methods for breaking down and building up commodity plastic materials through mechanochemistry. Accessing more environmentally conscious depolymerization and polymerization methods through mechanical force provides a unique solution to the world's concerning plastics problem. In addition to developing new methodology for polymerizations and depolymerizations, we are also studying small molecule models to provide improved understanding of polymer mechanochemistry. If you have an interest in organic chemistry, polymer chemistry, or sustainability (or all three!), our research projects may be a great fit for you!
