Quarter to Semester Transition

A note on Semesters: Cal Poly is scheduled to switch to the semester system as of Fall 2026 term. Efforts to build the semester curriculum (i.e., courses, programs, schedules) are currently underway. If you started in Fall 2022 or before but end up taking more than 4 years to graduate, chances are you might finish your studies under the semester system.

In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact your Chemistry faculty advisor or submit your question HERE.

Quarter to semester pathways for math support for chemistry and biochemistry majors.

A student with only MATH 141 completed on quarters should take MATH 141B on semesters. MATH 141B (2s) builds on MATH 141(4q) by covering the extra material in MATH 1261 (4s). By completing 141 & 141B, a student is prepared for MATH 1262 (4s). A student who has completed both MATH 141 & 142 on quarters should take MATH 1262 (4s).
